Live Update 1.36.0

Live Update 1.36.0 is the headline drop of the Nomadic Envoys season and one of the largest content updates since launch. It reworks matchmaking, adds a new Expedition and a new Trials season, brings a crossover with THE FINALS, redesigns the in-game store, and rebalances loot on the newest map.

The biggest structural change is separate matchmaking for solo, duo, and trio play. Instead of being folded into mixed lobbies, each party size now queues into its own pool, so a lone raider is matched against other solos and a full trio faces other trios. It's a direct answer to long-standing feedback about squad imbalance on the surface.

The season's fourth Expedition adds a new progression track of objectives and rewards to work through, while Trials Season 5 — "Prove Your Mettle" — resets the weekly competitive ladder with a fresh rotation of challenges. Both are covered in their own entries.

A collaboration with THE FINALS lets players earn a crossover cosmetic bundle by completing contracts across both games. The store received a visual redesign, and the floating ARC Turbine's salvage on Riven Tides was spread more evenly across containers so the map's loot feels fairer to chase.

Separate Solo, Duo, and Trio matchmaking is the sleeper change here: queue times shift, but third-partying by full squads while you run solo should drop sharply. If you shelved solo raids out of squad fatigue, this is the patch to come back on.

Trials Season 5 runs July 7 through September 30 with the Scorta outfit line as the season ladder — weekly resets every Monday, five challenges a week, and only your best score per challenge counts. Pair it with the fourth Expedition and one raid can feed both ladders at once.
