PvE toggle test: which queue should you choose?

    Raiderism editorial2026-10-08

The October 13–20 PvE test gives you two queues. Choose based on what you need to bring home, not just which queue feels safer. Embark has announced the rules; the test has not begun, so the choices below are a planning framework.

Pick a queue for the objective

Your next run Better starting choice Reason
Finish a quest hand-in PvE No player damage lets you focus on the item and the exit. ARC can still down you.
Scout an unfamiliar map or extraction PvE Learn the route before risking a valuable kit.
Run Night Raid, Hidden Bunker, Locked Gate, or Frigate PvPvE Embark excludes these conditions from the PvE test.
Farm vendor coins Compare both PvE has lower loot value. A better extraction rate may still make it the better net run for you.
Practice fights with other Raiders PvPvE PvE removes player-to-player damage.

You can switch queues between runs. A PvE session can mix solo, duo, and trio players, so “PvE” does not mean a private solo instance. Embark says playing PvE will not affect your PvPvE matchmaking rating.

Compare the haul you actually extract

The useful measure is value brought home per attempt, not value lying on the ground. For each queue, multiply your average haul on successful runs by the fraction of attempts that end in extraction.

For example, a queue that pays more on a successful raid can still lose to a lower-paying queue if you extract far less often. Count gear you replace after a failed run as a cost. The vendor ledger ranks items by sell value and coin per kilo; the needed-items tracker keeps quest and workshop materials out of your sale pile.

After a few runs in each queue, compare:

    1. Coins extracted divided by attempts.
    2. Required quest items extracted divided by attempts.
    3. Kits lost and time spent per attempt.

The first measure favors profit, the second progression, and the third tells you whether the difference is worth your time. Pick the queue that serves the goal you are currently chasing.

Do not plan a zero-risk kit

ARC remains hostile in PvE. Embark says a downed Raider can be noticed again while crawling; staying still may keep ARC from reacquiring you. Bring healing and a replaceable weapon. Use the loadout builder to save a cheap quest kit separately from your PvPvE combat kit.

The test is scheduled to end October 20. Embark has not promised a permanent PvE mode, so finish time-sensitive goals during the window rather than storing them for an assumed future queue.
